If you've ever had a window cleaner leave streaks, smears, or soapy residue behind, you've experienced the limitations of traditional cleaning. There's a better way, and it's what we've used since day one.
What is pure water cleaning?
Pure water cleaning uses water that's been filtered through a multi-stage purification system (deionisation and reverse osmosis) to remove all dissolved minerals. This zero-TDS (total dissolved solids) water is then fed through a water-fed pole to scrub and rinse windows from the ground.
The result? Water that dries perfectly clear with no spots, streaks, or residue.
Why it's better than traditional methods
No detergent residue. Soapy water leaves a thin film on glass that actually attracts dirt faster. Pure water leaves nothing behind, so windows stay cleaner for longer between visits.
Safer access. Water-fed poles reach up to 4 storeys from the ground. No ladders means no risk of falls, no damage to flowerbeds, and no worrying about someone leaning a ladder against your guttering.
Cleans frames and sills too. Traditional squeegee work focuses on glass only. Our poles clean the entire window unit — glass, frames, sills, and rubber seals — in one pass.
Works in light rain. Because there's no detergent involved, light rain doesn't ruin a pure water clean. The water is already pure, so any additional rainfall just adds more rinsing.
Common questions
"Won't it leave spots?" No — that's the whole point. Spots come from minerals in regular water. Pure water has none, so it dries completely clear.
"Does it work on ground floor windows?" Yes. We use a combination of pure water poles and traditional detailing for ground-floor work, choosing whichever method gives the best finish for each window.
"Is it more expensive?" Not at all. Pure water systems are more efficient, so we can clean more windows per visit. This keeps prices competitive while delivering a better result.
The bottom line
Pure water cleaning isn't a gimmick — it's the industry standard for professional window cleaning in the UK. It's safer, more effective, and leaves a longer-lasting finish. Every SWC clean uses purified water as standard.
