What we do
How we do it
Somerset's wet climate is perfect for algae, moss and black mould, and within a few years even new render can look green and stained. Pressure washing seems like the obvious fix, but a soft wash works differently: biodegradable cleaning agents break down the growth, then a low-pressure rinse removes it.
How it works
Simple, tidy and no fuss
Quick property assessment
Share your postcode and property details, and we arrange a time to come and look.

Soft wash and treatment
We soft wash the walls and rinse at low pressure, then apply the biocide if you chose it.
Why homeowners choose us
What you get
No high-pressure jets
They crack render, blow out pointing and force water into the wall cavities.
Kills algae and moss at the root
We leave the soft wash solution on long enough to break down the growth before we rinse.
All render types covered
From K-rend and monocouche to lime render, each needs a slightly different approach to avoid damage, so we match the method to your render system.
Better kerb appeal
A soft wash brings back the original finish, so the house looks cared for from the street.
Optional biocide protection
After cleaning, we can apply a biocide treatment that inhibits regrowth for 2-3 years. Ask about this when you request your quote.
Site visit assessment
We check the render type, how heavy the staining is and the access before we quote a fixed price.
Our approach
Low-pressure soft wash only.

Render & Soft Washing questions
What is the difference between soft washing and pressure washing render?
Soft washing uses low-pressure water with biodegradable agents that kill algae at the root. Pressure washing can crack render and force water behind it. We always soft wash rendered walls.
What types of render can you clean?
K-rend, monocouche, silicone, acrylic, cement, and lime render. Each needs a slightly different approach to avoid damage.
Do you also clean exterior cladding?
Yes. Our soft washing service also covers uPVC, composite, metal and timber cladding on homes and commercial buildings. We check the material and its condition, then use a suitable low-pressure method. Tell us about the cladding when you request your quote.
Why does render in Somerset get so dirty?
Damp weather, mild temperatures, and plenty of organic matter create perfect conditions for algae and lichen. North-facing walls and anything shaded by trees are particularly prone.
Will soft washing damage my render?
No. Low-pressure cleaning is designed for rendered surfaces, so the growth comes off without pitting or cracking the render.
How often does render need cleaning?
Every 2 to 3 years for most Somerset properties. Optional biocide treatment after cleaning can slow regrowth and extend the time between cleans. Ask us to include it in your quote.
How long do the results last?
Typically 2 to 3 years, longer with biocide treatment. The soft wash agents continue working over the following days, killing remaining spores below the surface.
