How much light does a dirty conservatory roof block?
More than you might expect. Algae, dirt, and hard water deposits build up gradually, so you rarely notice how much light has been lost. Most customers see a dramatic difference in brightness straight after cleaning.
Can you remove hard water marks from conservatory glass?
Sometimes. Somerset's hard water leaves stubborn mineral deposits. We start with pure water and soft brushes, and add a biodegradable cleaning solution where marks are stubborn. Heavy staining may not come out completely.
How do you stop moss and algae coming back?
We do not apply a biocide or any lasting protective treatment to conservatory roofs, so regular cleaning is what keeps growth down. Clearing surrounding gutters and trimming overhanging branches also slows regrowth.
Is it safe to walk on a conservatory roof?
No, panels and glazing bars are not designed to take body weight. We clean from the ground using reach-and-wash poles, so nobody needs to stand on the roof.
